ReelCheck

Terms of Use

Last updated October 16, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the ReelCheck app and service ("ReelCheck", "we", "us"), operated by Edward Zabrensky. By using ReelCheck you agree to these Terms. They apply in addition to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement; if the two conflict, these Terms apply to the extent permitted.

1. What ReelCheck does

ReelCheck helps you check factual claims in short videos. When you ask for a check, the app sends a transcript of recent audio, a few screenshots, or a link or video you share to our server, which uses an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) and web search to assess the claims and return a verdict with sources.

Auto-check is an optional Premium feature that's off until you turn it on. While it's on and ReelCheck is listening, the app sends new speech and a few screenshots to be checked automatically, at most about every 90 seconds, without you tapping Fact-check. It notifies you only about claims that look Misleading or False. Auto-check can miss claims, including false ones, so it doesn't replace checking things yourself.

2. AI results can be wrong

Verdicts are generated automatically and may be incomplete, out of date or incorrect, including about religious, political, medical, legal or financial topics. ReelCheck is not professional advice. Review the sources and use your own judgment before relying on a result. Verdicts are not statements of fact by us about any person or creator.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use ReelCheck, and old enough to agree to these Terms where you live.

4. Accounts

You can use ReelCheck without an account. If you sign in with Apple, we create an account linked to the anonymous identifier Apple provides. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account).

5. Plans and limits

Unused checks don't carry over. Limits reset at 00:00 UTC (daily) or on the first day of each month (monthly). We may change free limits with notice in the app.

6. Subscriptions and payment

7. Acceptable use

Don't misuse ReelCheck. In particular, don't try to get around limits or security (including by automating requests or calling our server outside the app), resell access, interfere with the service, or use it to break the law or harass anyone.

8. Your content

You're responsible for what you submit. You give us permission to process it only to provide the check. We don't claim ownership of it and don't keep it after the check is done, as described in our Privacy Policy. Videos and posts you check belong to their creators; ReelCheck doesn't download or store them.

9. Changes and availability

We may change, suspend or stop parts of ReelCheck. If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use ReelCheck means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Disclaimers

ReelCheck is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on a verdict. Our total liability for any claim relating to ReelCheck is limited to the amount you paid for ReelCheck in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if greater. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Ending use

You can stop using ReelCheck and delete your account at any time. We may suspend access if you break these Terms.

13. Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
